Pierre Nédellec is a composite portrait of a number of missionary priests of the Congregation of the Holy Ghost and of the immaculate heart of Mary, but the account is mainly drawn from the life and experiences of Joseph Orcel of that order. cf. Epilogue, p. [199]-200.
