Hackett's correspondence depicts camp life and includes his impressions of Washington, D.C., in 1864. Includes correspondence of Hackett's daughters, Edith Hackett Cramer, Carrie Fern Hackett, and Millicent Hackett Maloney, chiefly from the 1890s. Pertains to home life, their work as public school teachers, and current events.
