Includes letters (1862-1864) written by Henry Clay Christiancy and his brother James Isaac Christiancy, Union Army officers from Michigan serving in Maryland, Virginia, Kentucky, and Pennsylvania during the Civil War. An annotated transcription of Henry Clay Christiancy's diary (1862-1864) contains maps and photographs. Pickett family notebooks (1835-1998) contain correspondence, notes, writings, newspaper clippings, pamphlets, estate papers, genealogy, and other papers of or relating to Confederate Gen. George E. Pickett and his charge at the battle of Gettysburg, but also to his wife, La Salle Corbell Pickett, and her career as a lecturer after his death. The collection also contains military certificates (1846-1861) of General Pickett. Also includes correspondence of George E. Pickett III relating to his grandparents and Pickett family genealogy.
