The collection documents McGovern's political views and includes his writings in opposition to communism, the United Nations, Korean War, racial integration, and the civil rights movement.  Organizations represented include the Congress of Freedom, Inc., Defenders of the American Constitution, Fighting Homefolks of Fighting Men, Friends of Senator McCarthy, Inc., and the John Birch Society.
