Documents his work as foreign policy adviser and roundtable editor for Time, inc., his congressional campaign in Massachusetts (1942), and as an adviser to Wendell Willkie in the presidential campaigns of 1940 and 1944. Subjects include the League of Nations, postwar reconstruction of Europe, role of the U.S. as a world leader, world politics after World War II, political campaigns, and New Deal policies. Includes material on his study (1925-1927) of conditions in Africa and on his book, Poland: Key to Europe (1939). Many of the papers have been annotated by Buell's wife, Frances Dwight Buell.
