Letterbook (1778 May 10-September 10) containing transcripts of letters sent by Abeel during his service as deputy quartermaster in Reading, Pa., to various officers, relating principally to the procurement and distribution of supplies for the Continental Army. Also includes letters from Nathanael Greene, quartermaster general, concerning business of the department and the disposition of the army. Correspondents include Clement Biddle, James Calhoun, Henry Hollingsworth, Robert L. Hooper, John Mitchell, John Oakley, Robert Patten, Charles Pettit, and Adam Zansinger.
