Journal and autobiography describe Boerstler's early life in Germany, his decision to emigrate in 1784, his political activities in the U.S., his activities as a physician and owner of a powder mill, and his writings in a Hagerstown, Md., newspaper. Includes material relating to his role in the events surrounding the Whiskey Rebellion.
