Includes Gresham's Civil War letters to his wife, Matilda Gresham, written from camps near Corinth and Vicksburg, Miss.; Kenesaw Mountain, Ga.; Memphis and Shiloh, Tenn.; and Paducah, Ky.  Subjects include Indiana state and national politics, the Louisiana lottery, judicial matters, the presidential elections of 1884 and 1888, the annexation of Hawaiian, and pelagic sealing in the Bering Sea.</abstract>
