Journal (1710 Oct. 10-1713 May 15), in French, entitled "Relation du Voiage [au] L'Amerique par Monsieur L. C. D. Q. D. B.," describing (in two parts) two separate voyages from France to the French West Indies, written by an unknown French ensign. On the first voyage, the writer accompanied Lt. General Phelippaux (marquis de Raymond-Balthazar Phelypeaux) from Brest to Martinique; included are descriptions of fortifications, military and commercial affairs, blacks, education, and a trip to Saint-Domingue. On the second voyage (1712 Mar. 31-1713 May 15), which involved a 6-vessel military squadron sent from Toulon to Surinam, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Antigua, and Montserrat, he describes military activities in Surinam, Guadeloupe and Curaçao.
