  <abstract>Correspondence, diary, drafts of writings, film scripts and other production materials, business records, family papers, newspaper clippings, scrapbooks, and other papers relating to Frissell's exploration of the Unknown and Hamilton (now Churchill) River areas in Labrador, Newfoundland, in 1925; membership in the Royal Geographical Society and the Explorers Club; and production of the films, The Great Arctic Seal Hunt (1928) and The Viking (1931).  Later materials relate to Frissell's disappearance in a shipwreck while on location for The Viking, and attempts by members of his family to ascertain and publicize the facts of his career.  Correspondents include George Allan England, Robert Joseph Flaherty, and Sir Wilfred Thomason Grenfell.</abstract>
