Subjects include the political rights of the South in the Union, retention of a free press, promotion of industrial enterprise, international trade, state rights, tariff laws, slavery and its abolition in Texas, presidential elections, free trade, commercial treaties between the U.S. and England, the Oregon question, and Green's business ventures in the U.S.</abstract>
