Includes drafts of "Admiral Ambassador to Russia" (1955) and Standley's autobiography "Admiral Standley, Early Life and Naval Career."  Papers chiefly concern Standley's interest in U.S. naval power in the 1930's; his concern with U.S. relations with Germany in 1940 and with the Soviet Union after World War II; and his involvement in anti-Communist organizations in the 1950s.  Correspondents include Reginald Rowan Belknap, Frank Nathan Daniel Buchman, John G. Crommelin, Loy W. Henderson, Roy Wilson Howard, William E. Jenner, William F. Knowland, William Stanley, David I.
