"This 'Summary' was first translated from the Chinese, by Stanislas Julien ... and printed at the Royal press, in Paris, by order of the minister of public works, agriculture, and commerce. The French copy from which this translation was made, was transmitted from Paris, to the Secretary of state, and by his recommendation has been translated and published here.
