Purports to be a narrative taken from the journal of Ezekiel Williams, and other sources, of the wanderings of Williams, James Workman, and Samuel Spencer, in the western country from 1807 to 1810. The work is called a fabrication by H.M. Chittenden (American fur trade, 1902, v. 2, p. 651-656). It apparently has, however, some foundation in fact. Cf. Houck, Louis, Hist. of Missouri, 1908, v. 3, p. 93-94.
