Documents his role in the transport of the nuclear component of the atomic bomb aboard the USS Indianapolis (Cruiser) to Tinian (Northern Mariana Islands). Also includes material pertaining to Furman's role in the Alsos Mission, an intelligence operation to gather information regarding Germany's nuclear weapons program, seize German strategic materials and resources, and interrogate scientific and research personnel.
