Chiefly bound volumes of diaries and correspondence records listing outgoing letters (1921-1960), documenting Leontiĭ's role as an educator, editor of the Russian American Orthodox Messenger (Russko-amerikanskīĭ pravoslavnyĭ vi͡estnik), advisor to Russian Orthodox bishops, and advocate of Russian American Orthodox autonomy. Many of the entries in the correspondence records are annotated or have copies of the letters attached. Poetry and financial notes also appear in the volumes. Includes two notebooks kept by Leontiĭ while representing the American diocese at the Great Sobor (All-Russian Orthodox Church Council of 1917) in Moscow where leaders worked to organize the church as an entity separate from the Soviet state.
