Unsigned autograph letter (5 October 1780; Boston, Mass.) probably from William Vernon, commissioner of the board, concerning a shipment of goods; and a letterbook (1777-1782) containing contemporary copies of correspondence, resolutions, and votes of the board. The volume includes letters by commissioners John Deshon, William Vernon, and James Warren.

Board established in 1777 by the U.S. Continental Congress to superintend all naval and marine affairs in the New England states under the direction of the U.S. Continental Congress Marine Committee.
