Orderly and memorandum book kept by Captain Brown of the 1st North Carolina Regiment, containing general and regimental orders issued on march between North Carolina and New Jersey (1777 May 21-1778 January 3) with personal memoranda including financial accounts and copies of legal documents from Bladen County, N.C. (circa 1782-1797); and journal (1775-1778) recording company rations, expenses, enlistments, casualities, and desertions, as well as personal memoranda on debts, loans, and purchases.
