Captain John Stevens translated most of the works in this collection which is generally known under his name. The first volume contains: Argensola's Discovery and conquest of the Molucco Islands.--Lawson's New voyage to Carolina.--Cieza's Seventeen years travel in Peru. Each of these works has special t.-p., index and separate pagination.

The 2d vol. was published in 1710 wth title: A view of the universe, or A new collection of voyages and travels into all parts of the world. With the geography and history of every country ... To be published monthly ... It contains Mouette's Travels in Fez and Morocco.--Texeira's Travels from India to Italy by land.--Cauche's Voyage to Madagascar.--Tellez's travels of the Jesuits in Ethiopia. cf.
