Includes material on meteorological satellites such as TIROS I and the use of high-speed computers for numerical weather prediction and weather modification; records of the U.S. expedition to the Antarctic for the International Geophysical Year; and the Antarctic journal (1955-1959) kept by Wexler as chief scientist of the expedition in which he provides a detailed record of the organization and conduct of the mission.
